My name is Don E. Robinson. I live in Cleveland, Tennessee which is about 25 miles north of Chattanooga, Tennessee in the southeastern part of Tennessee (Bradley County). I am a lifelong resident of Tennessee, having grown up in a little town just north of here, Athens, Tennessee.
I graduated from McMinn County High School in 1967, attended the University of Tennessee, Knoxville and graduated from there with a B.S. in 1972. From there I moved to Memphis, Tennessee and received my M.D. from the University of Tennessee Center for the Health Sciences in 1974.
After 3 years of postgraduate medical
training in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee Center for the Health
Sciences, I became certified by the American Board of
Internal Medicine and moved to Cleveland to begin private practice. I have been here
since 1977. In 1987 I was awarded the Advanced Achievement in Internal
Medicine certificate. In 2001, I was elected a Fellow of the American College of
Physicians-American Society of Internal Medicine (FACP). I hold
faculty appointments as Adjunct Assistant Professor with The University of
Tennessee College of Nursing and Clinical Instructor with The North Dakota
School of Medicine.
I have served both of the local hospitals as President of the Medical Staff and
completed a term as President of the Bradley County Medical Society. I
also have served on the Board of Trustees at Cleveland Community Hospital and
currently serve as the medical staff representative on the Board of Trustees at
Bradley Memorial Hospital. I am
a member of the American Medical Association
and the Tennessee Medical Association.

I am still working on my first spouse, a real good one named Dawn (B.S. in Elementary Education-University of Tennessee, 1972). We have been married for 35 years, but it seems longer than that. She was quite fertile, and we soon begat 4 little Robinsons, Mandy, J.B., Chris, and Colby. They have turned out pretty well in spite of their father, but they have sure been expensive. Mandy, J.B. and Chris are all graduates of The University of Tennessee. Chris is married to a wonderful spouse (Brenna). J. B. has his Masters degree in Teaching and teaches at Blythe-Bower Elementary School in Cleveland. He is engaged to Amber. Mandy is engaged to Jake in Oak Ridge. Colby is a junior in college (sometimes). Chris is a Staff Sergeant in The United States Marine Corps. On December 15, 2005 we welcomed our first grandchild, Frederick Thomas Robinson, to the world. Chris and Brenna are the proud parents. Here is Thomas:
and on July 2, 2007 Molly Anne Robinson came into the world. Here is Molly:

I have many interests and hobbies. I have been into amateur (ham) radio since 1965. My call sign is WA4YYM (Extra Class). I also have had a passion for backpacking (still hope to finish the Appalachian Trail) since my days in the Boy Scouts of America, where I received Scouting's highest rank--Eagle Scout, an honor of which I am most proud, third only to my spouse-choice and my medical degree. Since 1985, I have been an adult Scouter, serving in many capacities, including Ocoee District Chairman, District Commissioner, Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 10, and Cherokee Area Council Board Member. I have been an advisor at Philmont National Scout Reservation and the Florida Sea Base, and a Wood Badge Staff member of SR-159. I am a James West Fellow, a National Eagle Scout Association Life Member, a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow, a recipient of the District Award of Merit, and the Silver Beaver Award. I am also the father of three Eagle Scout sons, J.B., Chris, and Colby. I was the founding webmaster of the Cherokee Area Council Website. I served as Asst. Physician for Subcamp 17 at the 1993 National Scout Jamboree, Chief Physician at Subcamp 17 at the 1997 National Scout Jamboree, Chief Physician of Subcamp 15 at the 2001 National Scout Jamboree, and was Chief Physician for Subcamp 19 at the 2005 National Scout Jamboree at Ft. A.P. Hill, VA., . I am also the webmaster of the Cleveland City Schools website (and spouse of a member of the Cleveland City Schools Board of Education, who also is the 2007 Tennessee School Boards Association President). I also enjoy hiking, camping, boating, snow skiing, scuba diving, and of course computers. We have two dogs, Lally who looks like this:

I am a member (currently on a break) of the Chancel Choir at Broad Street United Methodist Church. Dawn is a choir member also. Music has been a Robinson family tradition. All of our kids have played in the band. Mandy even marched with the University of Tennessee Pride of the Southland Marching Band.
I am a loyal fan of the University of Tennessee Volunteers. GO BIG ORANGE! I especially enjoy following the Vol Football Team.
The Cleveland Rotary Club has been my home every Tuesday at noon since 1977. I was president in 1985-86. In 1997 I was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship as the Rotarian of the Year. I was the founding webmaster of the Cleveland Rotary Club Website.
Environmental and cultural issues of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park are of great importance to me. I served 10 years on the Tennessee Great Smoky Mountain Park Commission for the State of Tennessee.
The history and genealogy of our Robinson family is a labor of love that I have undertaken. I hope to continue to research this further as the years go by. I use Family Tree Maker. If anyone needs a GEDCOM file of our family tree, e-mail me. Our roots are in Southwest Virginia (Washington County and surrounding counties) and Western North Carolina.
